How many ever faced their shadow? It's like the boogeyman in the closet. Or a cellar dweller luring in the basement. The basement of our conscious. And it keeps a lot of residue from our past - where there's leftover hurt, failures, trauma, fear, shame.Caught up in our day to day play, it all goes unnoticed for a while. Then, one day, something happens or someone's actions bring parts of our shadow to the surface. It's like the lights come on!!!
Paying attention to our reaction can teach us some things. Do we get defensive or uncomfortable? Forgiving ourselves, and letting go of the guilt and shame by embracing those emotions when they do show their faces. To acknowledge them, and become aware of them, can help give us insight and understanding about ourselves from the inside out. Easier said than done, huh?
Stay tuned for next weeks story.
Until next time,
and very soon
PEACE!

Now, hit the little story I got to tell.
00:00:07
Testing, testing.
00:00:09
One, two.
00:00:11
Are we live yet?
00:00:16
So I'm debating whether or not I should be doing this on a bi-weekly basis.
00:00:21
Something in between the stories.
00:00:24
I mean, after all, that's what the podcast is about.
00:00:27
It's about individual stories.
00:00:29
Real stories from real people.
00:00:32
And I thought that in between that time I can share just some abstract thoughts.
00:00:38
Maybe past experiences, failures, victories, personal reflections, all that jazz.
00:00:45
And I'm really not too sure if anybody will be interested, but we're going to give it a shot.
00:00:52
I think it all ties in together because this is about sharing in that authentic human experience.
00:01:01
And with that being said, I hope everybody's feeling well.
00:01:05
I got a question for you.
00:01:08
How many ever faced their shadow?
00:01:11
It's like the boogeyman in a closet or something like a cellar dweller lurking in the basement.
00:01:18
The basement of our own subconscious.
00:01:21
And it keeps a lot of residue from your past, whether it's left over hurt, failures, trauma, fear, that shame.
00:01:30
It's there and most of the time it lies undoubted.
00:01:35
And most of the time we're caught up in our day to day play, but it's lying there.
00:01:40
It's still tucked away and it's going unnoticed.
00:01:44
Just left alone to be.
00:01:46
But then one day something happens or someone's actions bring parts of that shadow to the surface.
00:01:54
Those hidden pieces that were tightly stashed to the side.
00:01:59
It's like the lights come on and then you can start to feel uncomfortable, maybe even guilty or disgusted.
00:02:09
It's like a little bit of sewage water touching your tongue.
00:02:13
But what's with the reaction? You might find yourself getting defensive or it can even distort itself into a superiority complex.
00:02:22
As if you're holier than thou and as if you don't know what it's like to have ever rolled in a mud.
00:02:28
Then that, that can turn into some inner banter along the lines of who are you to judge? You're no better.
00:02:37
Life happens. It's happening all around us unless you're tucked away in a cave somewhere.
00:02:43
But even then there's still you. There's still me to deal with.
00:02:48
Forgiving ourselves, letting go of guilt and shame by embracing all those emotions when they do rise up
00:02:58
and not putting them on a shelf or trying to ignore them or hide from them.
00:03:03
That's something I'm still working on and I know for me that's an area that still has a lot of room for improvement.
00:03:11
Just a little something to get off the chest.
00:03:14
Be sure to tune in next week. There's another story and it'll be with Pepper Ann.
00:03:20
She's a nonfiction, true crime author who has a story to tell about everything that she had to go through to get her story out, to get her truth out.
00:03:31
And if you're in the true crime, bank robberies, cattle being wrestled, everything from hostages being held to jail breaks
00:03:40
while her story has all of that and also the grit, the determination and the will to stand on her principle no matter what.
00:03:51
And a big thank you to all the listeners, everybody supporting the show.
00:03:55
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and also if you're listening and enjoying what we're doing so far.

00:04:10
