Growing up with an abusive mother, being raised in a cult (in Germany), and kept away from his father. Today, I'd like to share a very candid conversation I had with Emmanuel. When authorities, police officers, school board members, and other adults around him, did nothing in response to his pleas for help and reports of abuse. Out of desperation and fear, he fled and ran away at 15 years old.
Through all the pain, suffering, trauma and guilt of blaming himself for the abuse. Emmanuel, years later was able to find healing and forgive. How was he able to do this after all he went through? He credits his faith in God for one of the big reasons this was possible for him. This was truly inspirational, and left our talk in awe of his character and who he is today.
